Method of Participation
For ASDIN members, there are no fees for participating in and receiving credit for this activity. For nonmembers, there is a fee of $100.00.
During the period March 2023 through March 2025, participants must:
1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the posttest by recording the best answer to each question, and 4) complete the evaluation form.
A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form at the end of the module. Statements of credit will be issued via email following the completion of the module.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of Clinical nephrologist interested in optimizing dialysis access care; established and aspiring interventional nephrologists, fellow and residents, nephrology or advanced-practice nurses involved in dialysis patient care of vascular access management, radiological technologists, and dialysis technologists who wish to integrate various aspects of ultrasound within their practice.
Statement of Need/Program Overview
Health providers in renal care and dialysis access who have an interest in ultrasound, dialysis access ultrasound, and POCUS require basic education in the field in order to utilize the technology appropriately. This program hopes to address the need for awareness of basic ultrasound didactic education to support use of technology in various aspects of patient care. The desired outcome of this program is to improve appropriate utilization of ultrasound in various dialysis and renal settings which in turn will improve patient care outcomes.

As a result of this activity, the participant should be better able to:
• Describe propagation of sound in tissue
• Recognize Frequency, Wavelength, Amplitude, Intensity and Power
• Recognize Attenuation, reflection, refraction and scattering
• Describe the process of image creation with Ultrasound
